Google says itsweb advertising deal with Yahoois on
schedule and will not be derailed by US anti-trust
scrutiny.
Google will place its adverts next to Yahoo search engine
results from early October, as planned.
The deal was announced in mid-June, and the companies gave
themselves until early October to get started.
Microsoft has protested to legislators that the deal is
uncompetitive for the web ad market.
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt said, "We are going to move
forward. We are in the process of talking to the government. They
have not indicated one way or the other how they're dealing with
us."
The deal is a major plank of Yahoo's strategy to boost its
revenue and fight off any potential takeover by Microsoft.
