SAP does not plan to challenge Google search

SAP has great plans to use its high-performance analytic appliance (Hana) for search, but will not be challenging Google or any other internet search engines.

Hana will not be used for any consumer search engine, but SAP plans to make the platform as the basis for enterprise search.

SAP believes Hana will be good at finding the needle in the haystack of vast amounts of enterprise data, Jim Hagemann Snabe told attendees of the Sapphire Now customer and partner conference in Madrid 9 – 10 November.

Hana is a key part of SAP’s innovation strategy, and the company predicts that it will eventually be integrated into every one of its products.
