ARC International has created what it sees as an aural treat for Lenovo users. The company developed some software for the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Ultraportable Notebook PC, which it claims will boost the quality of the sound to turn it into a Hi-Fi. ARC says its Sonic Focus software can convert flat and lifeless digitised audio into "rich sound" for playback of music and movies using Lenovo's existing speakers.

Designed by sound engineers over 12 years, Sonic Focus is designed to prevent the loss in quality that occurs when digitised audio is compressed. The company says the technology is able to re-create the clarity and detail commonly lost in today's music, movies, and TV shows.
