by signing a deal with communications services firm Europacom to manage the service.
The hospitality and pub firm, which runs 178 outlets, had encountered service level problems because of a lack of records and information relating to the communications infrastructure in each site.
Europacom took responsibility for managing existing faults and moved the services to a Europacom network designed specifically for the company.
Mark Chapman, IT manager of TCG, said the firm’s network could now be managed with fewer staff. “Europacom’s technical and customer support together with our access to Atlas enables us to operate our communications network with one member of staff.”
TCG’s migration to Europacom has brought a variety of different benefits including instant cost savings by removing redundant phone lines and improving administration and support, Chapman said. TCG also hopes to reduce costs by moving to a voice over IP network.
Europacom manages the TCG’s telecoms infrastructure using Atlas, an online tool that has reduced calls from staff around the UK reporting telecommunications problems.
