John Riley

It is take two for A Night at the Movies, the theme of the grand Intellect ICT Charity Ball, after the original event had to be called off following the terrorist attacks in London on 7 July.

The event, which aims to raise up to £100,000 for disadvantaged children, will now take place on Tuesday 4 October at London's Hammersmith Palais.

The annual ball, supported by Computer Weekly and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists is the main social event in the IT industry calendar.

Since it started in 2000 it has raised more than £150,000 for various charities.
