Liberty Alliance, the organisation developing open standards for federated identity and strong authentication has been joined by 15 new members.

Liberty Alliance, the organisation developing open standards for federated identity and strong authentication has been joined by 15 new members.

Federated identity management allows internet users to use a single sign-on procedure to access and share information across different websites and corporate intranets.

The new members include LogicaCMG, Telecom Italia, CallingID, ChoicePoint, and Diamelle Technologies,

Existing members of the alliance include AOL, Ericsson, Fidelity Investments, France Telecom, General Motors, HP, IBM, Intel, Novell, Oracle, RSA Security, Sun Microsystems and Vodafone.
