EMC has reported boosted growth in annual sales and profits with the acquisition of four companies.

Total consolidated revenue for 2004 was £4.57bn, up 32% on 2003. Net-profits jumped 76% to £484m.

Core EMC sales in the fourth quarter of 2004, which excludes sales related to EMC's Dantz, Documentum, Legato and VMware acquisitions, grew 19% compared with the fourth quarter of 2003.

All of EMC's major geographies recorded double-digit sales growth, with consolidated international sales increasing 26% during the quarter, said EMC.

Joe Tucci, EMC chief executive officer, said, "It was an exceptional year. We extended our market and technology position across all of our major segments and geographies, while significantly advancing our information lifecycle management (ILM) and VMware's virtual infrastructure strategies."
