Metro Bank has announced a multimillion-pound contract with IT services provider Niu Solutions to manage the bank's infrastructure.

The company has designed and built the retail bank's IT infrastructure, including on-site and hosted voice, data, virtual desktop, mobility, connectivity, website, user helpdesk, and datacentre services. The IT platform is hosted at dual datacentres in the UK.

Metro Bank opened its first three branches in London this summer. A further 40 branches are planned for Greater London over the next four years as part of a 200-plus branch expansion plan.

Craig Donaldson, CEO of Metro Bank, said, "The flexibility of Niu's IT service platform and commercial engagement ensures we can grow our customer base and open new branches on-demand as Metro Bank grows."
