Health Informatics Review

The Department of Health has published its long-awaited Health Informatics Review.

I haven’t read it yet apart from the opening pages. The second page summary of “action required” is a little disconcerting . It says:

“Action required – Health Informatics Review to continue engagement with NHS and key stakeholders.”

Is this that the only action required – vague as it is – after such a major review? Are there recommendations which can be measured as carried out or not? Or is the document mainly aspirational? Someone once said that hope is a wish that the feeling you have isn’t permanent.

I hope to have to have a fuller review of the review shortly.
