Thistle Hotels has selected BT to manage and maintain its telecoms infrastructure to cut costs by 40%.
The managed service covers 47 Thistle hotels and two Guoman hotels including more than 10,000 rooms and two headquarter buildings.
The deal has reduced Thistle’s third-party telecoms management and maintenance contracts to a single supplier.
The single supplier relationship is expected to help reduce Thistle’s costs by more than 40%. The deal is also designed to improve Thistle’s telecoms reliability by more than 30%.
John Hogan, CIO at Thistle Hotels, said, “Downtime and telephone issues can affect every employee’s ability to do their job, which has the potential to negatively impact on a customer’s experience and ultimately our bottom line.
“In order to ensure optimum operational levels on a consistent basis, we have outsourced our telecoms maintenance and helpdesk directly to BT,” he added.
The service level agreements as part of the contract include a four-hour on-site emergency engineer response time for all major faults.
