Social cruising

It’s interesting to see that P&O Cruises has created a full-time staff role focused on social media. The cruise giant is experimenting with the use of social media as a marketing tool and working out how different forms of marketing can be mixed.

It’s not news that a company is doing this – many firms have started using social media as a marketing device – but it’s interesting to see a firm that would generally target an older demographic heading down the social route.
When care homes start marketing themselves using viral videos then I guess we will have to accept that this form of marketing is no longer pitching at the young.
