Wi-Fi? My Ass!

There is nothing quite like getting away from it all on your holidays. No work emails to bug you, no bills to be paid and no long commute to work.

In fact there are some holidays designed to give you that total remote feeling so you can relax outside of the real world.

One such place in Israel, called Kfar Kedem, aims to take you back to a simpler time in life amidst the lands of Galilee and Nazareth, even throwing in a donkey ride to get the whole experience.

However, Downtime has discovered these donkeys are not your traditional mules. Managers of the park have decided to use the animals as mobile Wi-Fi hotspots, putting bags around their necks to carry routers and enable their riders to surf the web whilst taking a ride.

The idea is to engage a more youthful audience, apparently, but we can only think it might detract from the traditional, biblical experience one is trying to achieve at the park.

Well, now you can view the historic sites and tweet the pictures as you go. If only they had had such technology 2,000 years ago…
