Got a guilty conscience? Feel the need to fess up? Well, there is an app for that.
In fact the Catholic Church has given its blessing to the iPhone app called Confession.
The app takes information from the user like age, gender and time elapsed since their last confession, say reports, to create a personalised “examination of conscience”.
Director of communications at the Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia, Katrina Lee, says the app is a great way of getting young people back and involved in the church, although she says the application is meant as an aid to confession, and not a replacement.
The Catholic Church may have given the app the thumbs up, but Downtime wonders if it would go down so well with data protection and privacy experts with all that personal data being transmitted.
