CoreStory deseeds legacy wormholes with inner code intelligence
Appley-sounding AI-powered code intelligence company CoreStory has this month explained how its technology addresses the ageing legacy application and system sluggishness problem…
CoreStory uncovers fundamental aspects in code for developers to address and move towards software modernisation.
While modernising, managing and maintaining legacy software systems to adapt to modern, cloud-based architectures, Mike Lambert, CoreStory COO suggests that “many firms” don’t have the documentation – or blueprint – of how the original application was built.
An agentic ensemble
He says that the CoreStory platform “augments and accelerates” traditional modernisation or maintenance SDLC by using an ensemble of large language models (LLMs) that are augmented with a proprietary agentic framework to scan and reverse-engineer the documentation.
“Across all industries, organisations are looking to digitally transform their software application stack but are quickly finding out that they lack the historical knowledge or context.”, said Lambert.
He insists that CoreStory “removes these barriers” with AI-driven code intelligence, which uncovers the original business requirements hidden in the code and then provides architectural code insights for modernisation.

CoreStory’s Lambert: Knowing (code) history lets you know your place in time.
Somewhat boldly, perhaps, he claims that CoreStory “turns legacy code into a strategic asset” so enterprises can understand it at every level.
“Traditionally, modernisation projects were conducted by a team of experts who reviewed the code line-by-line to reverse-engineer the specifications of the application, which typically takes 18 months or longer,” said Anand Kulkarni, founder and CEO of CoreStory. “Our AI-based approach allows these teams to accelerate the requirements-gathering process, reducing the time to mere hours. This enables them to focus on the post-modernisation journey, e.g., adding in more functionality and features. CoreStory changes application modernisation to a strategic advantage rather than a chore.”
CoreStory’s AI-driven code intelligence platform reviews hundreds of thousands of lines of code, documentation and other SDLC assets in minutes to create a structural and semantic intelligence model of the existing system – capturing business rules, system relationships and developer intent.
The platform addresses four use cases:
- Legacy App Modernisation: To accelerate modernisation efforts through an understanding of the legacy system’s functionality, business rules and interdependencies.
- Application Maintenance: The CoreStory intelligence model inspects, identifies and modifies application source code.
- AI-Assisted Coding: Is on offer to increase developer productivity by providing AI coding agents with enhanced application context, including detailed requirements, technical specifications and code analysis.
- Developer Onboarding & Productivity: Is also on offer to simplify developer onboarding and shorten onboarding latency by delivering code insights to developers.
Available now, CoreStory accelerates the software development lifecycle with AI-powered code intelligence, enhancing each step therein with detailed insights.
The platform is said to be of use for product and program managers, developers and testers alike.
