Tripartite tactics at SAP: target product, target partner, target industry

SAP has formed plans to work with Accenture, Capgemini and Deloitte with the specific aim of increasing customer adoption of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud in (even more specifically) the process manufacturing, discrete manufacturing and service industries.

NOTE: Discrete manufacturing is the production of distinct items — automobiles, furniture, toys, smartphones and aircraft are the examples of discrete manufacturing products.

SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (or SAP S/4HANA) is a business suite of Enterprise Resource Planning software products built specifically to run on the SAP HANA database.

SAP S/4HANA is always thought of (in SAP terms at least) as special because its in-memory capabilities allow both transactional and analytical data to reside in one system. This, in turn, allows its users to analyse, report, simulate and predict in real time.

SAP president for digital core and industry solutions Franck Cohen has explained the spread that will exist in terms of each partner’s market play.

Accenture, Capgemini & Deloitte

Accenture and SAP have started work to co-develop and jointly go to market with a solution running on SAP S/4HANA Cloud for the oil and gas industry. The software itself will focus on looking for opportunities to cut operational costs and open new revenue opportunities.

Capgemini and SAP are focused on the discrete manufacturing industries with initial focus on the automotive segment. The SAP-Capgemini initiative is designed to help customers in the areas of the Industrial Internet of Things in terms of their application of smart automation, machine learning and digital twins.

Finally here, Deloitte and SAP are expanding their collaboration in the service and process manufacturing industries. Using early customer validation and investments in SAP S/4HANA and Deloitte’s Reimagine Platform, SAP and Deloitte intend to combine technologies – such as machine learning and artificial intelligence – with Deloitte’s expertise in industry, business transformation and technology.
