The mail system uses a browser-based interface so that mail can be assessed remotely as well as from the desktop. Beyond integration, Gordano has added features to enable its calendar-based scheduler to be shared across a workgroup or department, and alerts can be set so that users can be informed by SMS of important events or e-mail arrivals.
Although the name may be unfamiliar, Gordano has 54 million users worldwide. It claims its popularity results from its multiplatform support and its ability to apply anti-virus and spam controls as e-mails are brought into the system.
The Gordano Messaging Suite is available for Windows, Linux, Solaris and vanilla Unix. It incorporates standards such as Com, Active Server Pages, MML message processing and Open Database Connectivity. It also supports Active Directory and LDap authentication and router management.
Gordano said it plans to announce a further growth in the scope of its product range later this month.
