Last week, Computer Weekly revealed that WH Smith is suing hardware suppliers Siemens and Fujistu Siemens Computers for £4.5m, alleging breach of contract and misrepresentation in the delivery of application and database servers. Some 53% of respondents agreed this type of action was worthwhile.
One IT manager said, "If the client breaks a contract, suppliers in general have no reservations about compensation so why should not the client, providing they can afford the cost and time?"
The Big Question
In light of WH Smith's action alleging breach of contract by Siemens, do you believe suing a supplier is worth the time and cost?
