A flurry of tweets emanating from the keynote at Salesforce's London event tells us that the cloudy CRM giant has big plans to rename London's Heron Tower - the big spiky one near Liverpool Street - as the Salesforce Tower.

But will the city take to Salesforce's somewhat dry new moniker?

After all, Londoners have a tendency to pick their own names for renowned landmarks - in recent years we've had the Gherkin, the Shard, the Cheese Grater, and Boris Johnson.

It occurs to Downtime that if Salesforce really wants to make friends in London and do us all a favour it could start by buying the bulbous, car-melting monstrosity known as the Walkie-Talkie.

And then demolishing it.
