The body as a computer

Source:  Computer Weekly

As the number of wearables being worn increases, so do the chances that the human body can be used alongside these devices to fuel data production and data transferal.

Intel demoed a long term research project where the human body can be used to transfer data from one device to another by using the skin to transfer a current from a wearable into a laptop.

This effectively puts the human body in the place of a USB stick.

Copper elements in a wearable make contact with the skin, so when a person’s fingers are placed on copper contacts on a laptop, data can be transferred.

The data cannot be stored in the body, but just uses it as a means of data transfer.
