VeriSign rolled out its VIP Program in response to customer feedback. Volume domain name holders will be enrolled in the program automatically.
VIP customers will also be able to consolidate disparate accounts and access 24-hour customer service.
The company's customer service push comes after a series of stumbles that have left some customers, rivals and regulators crying foul. Earlier this year, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) launched an investigation of VeriSign's marketing practices amid claims that the company was trying to steal customers from rival registrars.
Furthermore, in September the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) told the registrar to clean up its publicly accessible records, or face losing its domain business.
