Tech Data is stepping up its attempts to get more Microsoft partmers up to speed on the Azure platform over the next few months.
The distributor has put 50 resellers through its Azure Velocity Partner Acceleration Programme in the last year and has plans to put the same number through the scheme in the next six months.
Going through the programme puts a reseller in the position to aim for silver competency with the Azure cloud platform and improve their chances of growing their hosted revenues.
The distributor is highlighting the levels of support that are on offer to those that use the training and tools with the investment per partner reaching £20,000.
Microsoft has made it clear at its partner events this year that Azure remains a huge focus and it wants more partners selling the platform and associated hosted services.
Barry Lowe, managign director of San-iT, which has been through the Tech Data programme, said that it was able to get its team trained up on the technology.
"We achieved our Microsoft Silver Azure competency status and have since invested in building up our marketing. As a result, we’ve seen a real influx of sales," he said.
Tech Data is at the gold level for the Microsoft Cloud Solution Partner (CSP) and in a position to provide this level of training and support.
"To date, we’ve put more than 70 individuals from around 50 resellers through a five-day Azure technical training courses and we’ve seen their revenues with Azure and with CSP grow significantly over the past six months," said Dwayne Earl, software business unit manager at Tech Data.
"It’s now a very well tried and tested programme, so we are very keen to sign up more partners and get them started on their cloud journey," he added.
