Ingram Micro UK managing director Julian Klein has confirmed to MicroScope that he will leave the organisation by the end of the month to be replaced by Pablo Suarez, who currently heads up the distributor's Miami Export Group.

Klein joined the broadline giant two years ago this month and previously held the reigns at AV distributor Steljes and Computer 2000.
He said the original plan when he took over at Milton Keynes based Ingram was to relocate nearer to the business but that had not worked out and he had made the decision to resign, although he had expected to leave later this year.
"It got to the point where the commute from Hampshire was no longer sustainable and with Jay Forbes , EMEA president leaving the business and a new regime coming in Europe, I came to the decision that the time was right to leave," he said.
As revealed earlier this month, Ingram has named Alain Maquet as Forbes' successor and he has previously worked with Suarez.
Klein insisted he was leaving the UK operation in fine fettle, "I cannot give specific numbers but the performance was considerably ahead of expectations."
He does not have a position immediately lined up but having amassed experience of the IT channel over the years, reckoned opportunities in the market will arise.
