Fujitsu bundles CA data protection and backup with storage

Antony Savvas

From next month, Fujitsu Siemens will bundle CA’s BrightStor Arcserve Backup solution and XOsoft Enterprise Rewinder continuous data protection software free with its FibreCAT storage systems.

The offer covers the FibreCAT NX and SX disc systems and FibreCAT TX tape systems.

The bundles make it easier for smaller companies to protect business-critical data, as well as delivering savings of around £2,000 in software licensing fees.

Quocirca analyst Dennis Szubert said, “With its new initiative, Fujitsu Siemens is combining fully licensed best-of-breed data protection software products with its trusted storage hardware solutions.”

Helmut Beck, vice-president for storage at Fujitsu Siemens, said, “We have created this product bundle because we believe that a comprehensive data protection solution should not cost a fortune, and we are committed to providing FibreCAT customers with backup software that addresses the particular needs of small and medium-sized businesses, without adding the burden of additional licensing fees.”

CA BrightStor Arcserve Backup is a flexible, integrated backup and recovery solution that allows central management of the backup environment. The software is designed to back up business-critical data in small and medium-sized enterprises, ensuring data availability at all times.

CA XOsoft Enterprise Rewinder data protection software is compatible with file and database servers such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL servers and Oracle database systems.
