Two charities have received cheques totalling £70,000, raised during two Computer Weekly-supported industry-wide events that took place this summer.

The London-based charity Treehouse Trust, which supports autistic children, will receive £40,920 raised by the Intellect ICT Charity Ball, topped up with £10,000 donated by the Worshipful Company of Information Technologist's Charitable Trust. That money will fund a project enabling staff to record the children's progress on PDAs.

Children and young people attending Barnado's projects in London will benefit from funds raised by the 7th annual WCIT Charity Walk, which took place in London in June and raised £19,923.
