The US portal specialist Webridge is launching its eBusiness Express suite through its new European sales and support office in London, writes Eric Doyle.

The portal suite is aimed directly at the business-to-business market. Gregory Darmohray, director of European operations for Webridge, says, "The average e-commerce Web site takes five months to a year to deploy. Our portal is 91% pre-built and can be deployed on a Windows NT server within 90 days."

Commenting on the increase in portal use, Robin Bloor, CEO of Bloor Research says, "This market is growing phenomenally so there will be plenty of space for second-wave companies like Webridge to find customers, but there will be a price war ahead as inter-Web site standards, such as XML, develop and start-ups begin to drag prices down to the £20,000 level."
