The Millennium Wheel may not have moved an inch on new year's eve, but it did have a high speed network connection thanks to Lucent Technologies. Lucent supplied its Systimax Gigaspeed cabling for the British Airways London Eye - formerly called the Millennium Wheel. The network links the Eye with County Hall, payment kiosks, Madame Tussauds, Costa Coffee and the turnstiles. Although beset by mechanical problems, BA promises that the maiden flight of the Eye will take place on 1 February.
