Two years of growth in IT jobs

There has been seven consecutive quarters of growth in the UK IT jobs market with contract IT positions available increasing fastest.

According to CWJobs.co.uk and JobAdsWatch.co.uk in the first three months of 2011 there was an 11% increase in the number of contract IT job postings, and a 6% increase in permanent job postings, compared to the same quarter last year.

SQL, C, C#, .NET and SQL Server were the most in demand skills but demand for Agile project skills increased 48% in the quarter compared to same period a year ago.

Software developer pay increased by 3% while general IT salaries grew 0.9%.
