Nuvias has expanded its presence in Europe with the acquisition of Benelux cyber security distributor DCB adding some more depth to its existing coverage in that market.

DCB has offices in the Netherlands and Belgium and has a twenty year record in the industry and works with vendors including WatchGuard, Kaspersky, Trustwave and Centrify.
It marks the first major acquisition this year after a flurry of activity in 2016 that saw it pick up UC player Siphon and form the Nuvias group with Wick Hill and Zycko last summer.
Nuvias already has a string of offices on the continent including Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland and now gets the chance to add greater coverage in two other countries, Netherlands and Belgium.
“The Benelux region is very important strategically for us and DCB will become the Cyber Security Practice there, alongside our already established Advanced Networking and Unified Communications Practices. We will be making significant further investments in Benelux in the months ahead, including additional staff," said Nuvias Group CEO Paul Eccleston.
“DCB is a value-added distributor with a very strong reputation and a large partner base. Its emphasis on service and support, outstanding product knowledge and a commitment to excellence are completely in line with the philosophy and strategy of the Nuvias Group," he added.
The initial plans are to extend some of the existing vendors it has pan-EMEA relationships with to DCB, including Arbor Networks, Malwarebytes and HID Global.
The Nuvias move comes just days after fellow VAD Exclusive Networks made a US acquisition to give itself a foothold in the American market. The channel player was also clear about the benefits of having a wider geographical coverage to provide vendors with higher levels of support.
