Salesforce launches Lightning Partner Community

Salesforce says that new programme allows companies to turn their channel partners into an extension of their direct sales teams

Salesforce has launched what it calls the Lightning Partner Community, a programme aimed at helping companies to accelerate sales from their partner ecosystem.

The CRM heavyweight says that the new programme will allow companies to ‘arm resellers, franchisees, channel teams and more with the same tools that make their own direct sales force successful’.

Salesforce points to research from Accenture, which states that an average of 70% of high-tech sales come from the channel.

“However, many partners are hampered by the solutions that connect them with vendors today,” Salesforce said in a statement. “Archaic systems that are difficult to navigate, fragmented and impossible to access from a mobile device—limiting the potential of what their sales could be.”

“The new Lightning Partner Community enables companies to turn partners into an extension of their own direct sales team by giving them a single place to identify opportunities, track progress and close deals.”

Salesforce says that the Lightning Partner Community Portal is designed with mobile usability in mind, allowing sales staff to access information on the go. Of course, it includes all the CRM bells and whistles that one would expect from Salesforce, plus a few extras. Salesforce Einstein for Partner Community, for example, provides answers, knowledge articles and experts, giving partners the tools they need to increase sales.

"Companies have the ability to accelerate growth if they create a partner ecosystem that can act like an extension of their sales team," said Mike Micucci, GM & SVP, Salesforce Community Cloud. "With the new Lightning Partner Community, companies can now arm partners with the world's smartest CRM, helping them close more deals faster."

Lightning Partner Community is generally available as of right now with the Partner Community Cloud License.
