WatchGuard is putting the finishing touches to a partner programme that will be launched next month as the vendor looks to increase the benefits for those resellers that are providing value.
The revisions to the partner programme have been spearheaded by Alex Thurber, vice president of sales at the vendor, who set out the ambition of changing its channel engagement when he took up the role last June.
Thurber has wide experience with the channel in spells as senior vice president of worldwide channels as McAfee and time working with resellers when he worked at Cisco.
He said that the revised scheme would be revealed next month and it would be giving partners time to get used to the changes before they came into force later this summer.
"I have made no secret of my plans to look at our partner programme as I think we can do a better job with partners and make it easier for us to tell [which resellers are putting in the most effort] and for partners to invest," he said.
The revised channel partner programme is expected to be announced at some point around the week starting 12 May.
