Colt first put its franchise plans on the table in 2012 with the aim of helping VARs make the transition towards becoming MSPs, however the scheme really took off following its acquisition of ThinkGrid, and the subsequent evolution of its portfolio into the Ceano SME services package.
Ceano is a converged information and communications technology services platform pitched at 25 to 500 seat installations, hosted in Colt’s own datacentres and backed by its European fibre network. Available services currently include virtual servers and desktops; security and infrastructure management; communication and collaboration applications, and voice and internet access.
As a franchise partner Keltec will now offer Ceano cloud services and colocation along with data and networking solutions to complement its existing IT services. The partnership also includes 24/7 UK-based support, flexible SLA’s, tailored contracts, dedicated account teams and professional services.
“Data is a precious business asset, it needs to be easily accessible and protected so that organisations can work with agility and speed. Efficient communication across all office locations and the ability to easily exchange information with suppliers and partners are vital to success in a fast moving marketplace,” explained Keltec MD Simon Pemberton.
“The combined high level of technical expertise from Colt and Keltec ensures that our customers receive IT solutions that are tailored and designed to specifically address these challenges and suit their current and future business needs. We are exceptionally happy to have been chosen as a franchise partner for Colt and look forward to being able to work with our customers on some truly business-changing initiatives,” he continued.
“Colt’s business strategy is to address new small and medium sized business via our franchise network. We chose to work with Keltec because it was immediately clear that we share common values of technical excellence and a genuine commitment to customer service,” added Colt franchise partner director Carol Alexander.
Keltec customers include names such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cerner, Plastic Omnium, Invensys Rail, Intergen, London Borough of Barnet, NATS and The Institution of Engineering and Technology. It is a reseller of HP, Oracle, Citrix, Veeam and VMware among others.
