Westcon makes Westerbos boss

Westcon parent Datatec names Dolph Westerbos as CEO, replacing the outgoing Dean Douglas

Networking, security and unified comms distie Westcon has selected former Dell exec Dolph Westerbos to take on the role of CEO following the departure of Dean Douglas, who is stepping down in January after five years in charge.

Currently group president of APAC and EMEA operations, head of global strategy and marketing at CHEP, part of logistics outfit Brambles.

Westerbos also served as EMEA VP of solutions and services at Dell, and was instrumental in setting up Dell’s European channel business in the early days following its Damascene conversion.

Prior to Dell, Westerbos worked at supply chain, IT and BPO services firm ModusLink in a number of senior roles.

Datatec chief exec Jens Montanana said: “Dolph brings a considerable international track record so we are delighted that he is joining us to run Westcon.

“His experience in global supply chain operations coupled with technology-based services and his focus on operational efficiency and international commerce will be invaluable.”

Montanana also paid tribute to Westcon’s outgoing boss, saying: “I’d like to thank Dean for his significant achievements in globalising Westcon over the last five years.”
