Software Defined Storage (SDS) player Nexenta has recruited an industry veteran and former Wyse employee to come on board as its chief operating officer and help the firm develop its strategy.

Phil Underwood has almost 30 years worth of experience in the IT world, including handling not just reseller programmes but also M&A transactions, in a career that recently included a spell in management at Wyse and also IPLocks, Margi Systems and ITT.
Tarkan Maner, CEO of Nexenta, said that Underwood had experience that it could tap into as it looked to grow the business and the appointment came at "am important juncture in our growth".
In response Underwood said that he had joined at an interesting time and came with the aim of solidifying the firm's position in the developing SDS market.
