D-Link teams up with Halfords in consumer security push

D-Link’s consumer-focused surveillance camera lines are to be made available through automotive and cycling retail specialist Halfords

SME and consumer networking, security and storage specialist D-Link is to offer some of its home security equipment through automotive, leisure and cycling retail giant Halfords

Halfords – which recently launched a new security line focused on garage and driveway security – will initially stock three models of D-Link’s day and night home monitoring cameras, the DCS-932L, DCS-942L and DCS-5222L.

The cameras record and transmit high quality video and audio both during the day and at night, thanks to infrared LEDs, with user access and management available via D-Link’s own mydlink cloud service, available on PCs, tablets or smartphones.

Adrian Edwards, consumer solutions manager at D-Link UKI, commented, “Working with one of the most well-known and respected high street retail brands enables us to make it even easier for more people to take advantage of the security and convenience benefits offered by D-Link cloud cameras.

“The cameras that Halfords are stocking provide a range of price points to suit the needs of a variety of customers and provide both a deterrent and a way of recording incidents that can be used as evidence in the event of a crime.”

Halfords product manager David Hammond added: “Halfords is a trusted brand among motorists and cyclists and trust is a critical factor for customers buying home security products. Security cameras are a natural extension for us as a business because they complement products such as locks, which we already sell, by enabling customers to take better care of valuable assets including cars and bikes.”
