WatchGuard recruits security veteran Thurber

WatchGuard has recruited Alex Thurber who has a CV that includes spells at Tripwire, McAfee and Cisco

Security veteran Alex Thurber has joined WatchGuard as vice president of sales in EMEA and the Americas as the firm looks to build on its recent growth and exploit his track record working with the channel.

Thurber's CV includes most recently a spell as vice president of worldwide sales as Tripwire as well as a spell as senior vice president of worldwide channels at McAfee and a job at Cisco, which took him to Japan.

Joe Wang, CEO of WatchGuard, said that it had always been committed to the channel and Thurber would being a wealth of knowledge in building and managing channel partners and programmes.

"We’re thrilled to bring Alex’s deep understanding of channel sales and reputation for building powerful customer relationships together with our sales team, and continue to drive growth and success for both WatchGuard and our partners," he said.
