LDD Group buys into education market

Acquisition of primary school computing specialist Compubyte latest step in LDD’s expansion plans

Expansive LDD Group has acquired Bradford-based neighbour Computbyte for a six figure sum, expanding the portfolio of services it is able to offer in the education market.

Founded in 1999 by husband and wife team Bill and Elaine Young, Compubyte has built up a sizeable business servicing primary school customers in both West Yorkshire and Lancashire.

It specialises in PC and printing support, wireless networking and presentation technology, such as projection, among other things.

The firm will be incorporated into LDD’s existing structure, under group sales director Mandi Iles, with all staff set to be retained, LDD said.

Iles commented: “The company’s expertise in the education sector will enhance our service delivery to schools and colleges and support us in achieving growth in that sector.”

LDD holds accreditations from Citrix, HP, Veeam and VMware, among others.
