Juniper Networks has used the opening day of its worldwide partner conference, currently underway in Las Vegas, to add new services and cloud specialisation options to its VAR programme, Partner Advantage.

Juniper launched its programme last year and already claims to have over 12,000 partners in harness worldwide. It now wants to beef up its offering with a range of new services, Partner Support and Partner Professional, as well as support for cloud implementations.
Partner Support services will focus on support and maintenance to help resellers grow their existing support practices. It will include services troubleshooting workshops, including service provider routing, enterprise routing, enterprise switching and security, which are to be launched later in the year.
The Professional Services element will take things a step further by validating resellers’ professional services capabilities, sharing Juniper’s professional services assessments, design and implementation guides with the channel, and promoting partner professional services capabilities to the vendor’s customers and internal sales staff.
The Advantage Cloud programme will “define and segment” partner cloud capabilities and exploit Juniper’s existing technology partnerships to create more effective cloud-based solutions. Elements are set to include marketing, financing and rewards options.
Juniper senior VP of worldwide partners and alliances, Emilio Umeoka said: “[The] expansion of our Partner Advantage programme to include services and cloud will arm our partners with integrated, value-add programmes and tools that capitalise on these massive market opportunities.”
The new components will be fully deployed by the end of 2013, said Juniper.
