Rebooted CMS to sell Western Digital SME NAS kit

Just days after ditching its CMS Peripherals moniker, newly-renamed CMS Distribution has signed on to sell Western Digital’s SME network attached storage (NAS) hardware

Just days after ditching its CMS Peripherals moniker, newly-renamed CMS Distribution has signed on to sell Western Digital’s SME network attached storage (NAS) hardware.

The new relationship will encompass the full line-up of WD’s SME NAS kit, including its Sentinel DX4000 device, a Wintel-based shared storage solution that offers automatic server-based backup across up to 25 devices with a capacity of up to 16TB.

According to WD senior SME sales manager for the UK, Sukh Dhillon, the pair see this market as “underserved” in spite of its rapid growth.

CMS commercial director Nick Preston added: “The WD Sentinel range of products offers cutting-edge technology and their relationship with industry leaders such as Intel and Microsoft provides an excellent new platform and margin opportunity to our network of resellers.”

CMS, which claims to be the UK’s leading supplier of sub-$10,000 NAS solutions, assumed its new identity at the start of the year in a nod to the convergence within its business following the 2011 acquisition of CCI Distribution.
