The CEO of Symantec has penned a letter to resellers promising to keep listening to their concerns, reduce channel conflict and keep them informed of the vendor's plans.

The CEO of Symantec has penned a letter to resellers promising to keep listening to their concerns, reduce channel conflict and keep them informed of the vendor's plans.

As he takes the reigns as CEO Enrique Salem has admitted that there are tough market conditions but in an open letter to partners he has outlined plans to continue investing in technology.

"We want to be your most strategic vendor partner. We want to help you continue to be your customer's most trusted IT advisor," he said.

"That means we'll continue to innovate when it comes to products and services and we'll provide you with programs and incentives that not only increase your bottom line, but open up new business opportunities for you," the letter stated.

"Symantec will also take the steps necessary to drive tighter alignment in the field and reduce channel conflict," he added.

Salem became CEO at the start of the month replacing John Thompson who retired at the start of the month.
