Ingram Micro has rolled out a series of new functionalities in a web site upgrade designed to make the quotation process easier for its dealers.

The enhancements include the ability to add non-Ingram Micro products to the quote, include dealer own-brand services, include product recommendations, add shipment costs, define the mark-up, and set quote validity and expiration.

Resellers will also be able to manage existing and new end-users, clone quotes for different customers and e-mail quotes directly to them, as well as converting quotes to orders.

"It will now be more convenient and effective to create and manage quotes for end-user customers," said Jonathan Newman, senior director of enterprise web and EMEA eSolutions at Ingram Micro.

"These enhancements fit with [our] strategy to focus on enhancing our eBusiness capabilities and I am confident that this will strengthen our web offering throughout EMEA," he added.

A future patch will also see resellers able to personalise their quotes with their own branding, removing references to the distributor from material that will be seen by their customers.
