Avnet picks up Mattelli assets to bolster services

Avnet Technology Solutions has picked up the assets of IT estate management specialist Mattelli Ltd to add muscle to the services it can offer resellers

Avnet has acquired the assets of services specialist Mattelli, a specialist in IT estate management, in a move designed to add muscle to the support it can give the channel.

The distributor is planning on developing its services and support arm and will make the Mattelli products available to resellers immediately.

Mattelli, which had its assets picked up in an undisclosed deal, has developed the Unity platform which allows customers to manage their hardware and software estate keeping an eye on software compliance and renewals.

Graeme Watt, president of Avnet Technology Solutions EMEA, said that it would add estate management to sit alongside its other software and services offerings.

"We will continue to identify and develop Avnet services that support growth for our business partners and drive product demand for our suppliers. This initiative will launch in the UK then rapidly extend into other EMEA geographies," he said.

Simon Ellis, Mattelli co-founder and now business unit director, estate management and services and solutions at Avnet Technology Solutions, said that as part of Avnet the speed with which it could get resellers selling Unity would speed up.
