Nimans gets extra Aastra clout

Unified comms distributor Nimans has expanded its relationship with Aastra to include Microsoft Lync handsets.

Comms distie Nimans has added Aastra’s Microsoft Lync-optimised UC handsets to its product portfolio and been handed new rights to independently supply the vendor’s SIP end-point range, which had previously only been available with system sales.

The expanded contract means resellers will now be able to access Aastra 6721ip and 6725ip Lync handsets, which the vendor claims are ideally suited to hot-desk applications and meeting room use.

“Gaining access to both the Lync and SIP-based products significantly strengthens what was already a very compelling UC portfolio,” said Nimans head of handset sales, Ian Brindle.

“Nimans is already an approved Aastra system supplier, so combining handsets with the Aastra 400 platform for example represents a very powerful, cost effective and convenient customer proposition.”

Aastra UK managing director Alan Reeve said the deal would give Nimans customers added opportunity to capitalise on the drift to hosted services models.
