Legacy access and extension software specialist Attachmate has turned to Exclusive Networks to run a new partner programme designed to address a current glut of sales opportunities around Microsoft Windows 7.
Attachmate recently handed Exclusive exclusivity in the UK after ending its eight-year tryst with Ingram Micro, and believe it will now be able to deliver a "more focused approach" to the reseller channel in the UK as a result.
Attachmate UK channel manager Camille Morgan said that the firm had taken the decision because it wanted more support in terms of channel development, something Exclusive claims it is "the only UK distributor with the skills and reach" to provide.
"It's no longer just about renewals, but is now about out-of-the-box selling. With Exclusive's knowledge and our customer base we are confident that we can more comprehensively explore new opportunities," Morgan explained.
"There are a lot of issues around Windows 7, desktop refreshes and standardisation, and a lot of opportunities for resellers," she added.
The new programme will offer support around renewals contracts, consultancy, marketing support and sales opportunity identification, among other things. Resellers will also get a dedicated account manager and campaign-in-a-box marketing collateral, said the duo.
