Fujitsu has lit the blue touchpaper under its channel cloud proposition, announcing a sepecific cloud accreditation for midmarket and vertically-focused partners, and appointing former Intact Software UK channel boss Paul Dobbs as its new Global Cloud Platform channel sales manager.
Dobbs arrives with over a decade's experience of running channels across several companies, including SAP, Orange Business Services and Sage, and will be tasked with identifying, recruiting and educating new resellers signing up to sell Fujitsu's Global Cloud Platform services.
The Global Cloud Platform is a stack of pre-defined, configured infrastructure services that can either be deployed as part of a reseller's cloud portfolio, or by Fujitsu itself, paying the reseller commission on fees.
Fujitsu claims the platform can offer partners an easy route into cloud provisioning without necessarily having to make major up-front investments themselves.
Simon Worsfold, Fujitsu UK and Ireland Technology Product Group channel and enterprise sales director said: "The fact that the services can be tailored to meet customer needs and come pre-configured and ready to be deployed without any advanced configuration of existing systems is important.
"It means that we can provide a complete, end-to-end service, without any additional integration work," he added.
Fujitsu will be announcing details of the new cloud services SELECT Expert accreditation later in the year.
