With cloud becoming a larger small business issue it provides the channel with even more incentive to brush up on their skills in this area.
A picture of the state of the SME cloud market has been painted by IBM, which has produced a survey showing that 67% of managers they asked had either implemented a solution or would in the future and 30% of firms expected a move to have been made in the next two years.
Flexibility was the top reason to embrace the cloud with cost efficiencies as the second main reason SMEs would embrace the technology.
As well as the need to help staff work more flexibly and the attraction of saving money Big Bolue revealed that consumerisation is doing also adding to the cloud momentum with many users now looking to connect via mobile devices.
IBM is predicting that by 2015 there will be 1 trillion cloud-ready devices out there with staff logging on from a variety of locations.
"Mid-market companies have understood for some time the financial benefits of the cloud, but we are now seeing an interesting shift to a new, more strategic level of thinking about what the cloud can deliver, said Simon Porter, vice president, mid market sales at IBM.
