Check Point has recruited a former Xchanging and Brocade staffer to handle its major accounts sales effort in the UK.

Paul Phillips joins the security vendor as major accounts sales director for the UK and Ireland with a brief to manage relationships with existing customers and increase the business it drives through key channel partners.

Phillips joins from Xchanging Technology Services, where he was head of sales, and before that he had an eight year stint at Brocade including the position of regional director for the UK and Ireland,

"With this background and his intimate knowledge of managed services, Paul knows exactly what Check Point needs to ensure we continue to maximise new and existing business opportunities.  His perspective will be a key factor in future sales growth," said Terry Greer-King, managing director, UK and Ireland at the vendor.
