Logicalis throws hat into Cisco BYOD ring

Logicalis has added Cisco's Identity Services Engine (ISE) Authorised Technology Partner badge to its haul, allowing it to sell, deploy and support Cisco's ISE access control platform.

The ISE solution functions either as an appliance or VM, and according to Cisco provides visibility and control over all devices on the end-user network and then creates consistent policy access and application enforcement across the network for corporate governance purposes.

Logicalis said that the ability to secure wired and wireless network infrastructure was the "first building block" to supporting the growing usage of personal smartphones and tablets on the business network,

"With sales of smartphones now outstrpping PCs and as major business applications such as analytics, collaboration and video migrate from the desktop to the tablet device, many of our customers are seeking our assistance to start their journey towards enabling their users to bring their own device," explained Logicalis CEO Ian Cook.

The Cisco accreditation recognises an increasing movement among end-users to exert more control over their BYOD environments. Just last week Azlan announced it would be providing pre-designed Cisco wireless and routing bundles to resellers as a BYOD "starter-pack".
