Paris-based identity and access management software developer Ilex is taking its first proper steps outside of France with the establishment of a UK operation.

The firm is exhibiting at Gartner's Identity & Access Management Summit, currently taking place in London in the hope of hooking up with British resellers, especially those in the public sector and healthcare markets, which it claims account for as much as 50% of its €6m (£5.03m) French business, according to CEO Laurent Gauthier.

Its offering is based around two product sets; ID-management package Meibo, which provides workflow, provisioning and role management capabilities, and access control solution Sign&Go, which combines web and enterprise SSO features and identity federation on a single platform.

It includes options for resellers with technical and software skills to write bespoke IAM solutions, which Gautier said would open up the possibility of adding a SaaS component to the overall sale.

The firm already counts several enterprises, such as EDF and Air France, as well as a major installation with the French army among its successes.

Speaking to MicroScope, Gauthier said: "We need large system integrators for the enterprise market, but as IAM is also a very technical market we want to hear from smaller, technically-skilled partners, too."

Ilex will be servicing the UK market from France for the time being, but said it would be putting feet on the street to guide partners through the implementation process.
