Butt left Avaya in January after nearly four years in charge of the vendor's channel operations. During his tenure he oversaw the transformaton of its channel-facing presence and the at times rocky integration of Nortel's enterprise business.
His brief as EMEA vice president at Westcon, where we reports directly to CEO Dean Douglas, will be to bring together the firm's disparate regional business units into a single EMEA structure, while strengthening its reseller relationships and expanding the scope and reach of its UC and security practices, Westcon said in a statement.
"I've been fortunate to work closely with Westcon in EMEA on a number of occasions throughout my career. The company has lived up to its reputation as a customer-centric distributor with an unmatched level of expertise," Butt said. "I'm proud to be the newest member of this team."
Added Douglas: "Jeremy is a great hire for us; he'll bring the right mix of experience and leadership necessary to power our next stage of growth."
