Brocade is setting out to push its reseller community into the increasingly competitive campus LAN market with the unveiling of a new channel programme to help VARs capitalise on the opportunity and get one over on Cisco-selling rivals.

Dubbed the Effortless Network, Brocade claims the programme, when combined with new offerings in its ICX switching range, will present a "compelling value proposition," filling in gaps that its rivals struggle with.
Brocade UK partner head John Mitchell said that there had been a lack of innovation around campus network infrastructure, as opposed to datacentres, which had meant the end-user experience had been lacking.
"The programme guarantees the quality of service that end-users want to appreciate, whether they are consumers or workers," he explained.
"We think this opens up a huge switching market and makes us a much more credible player. Our resellers are looking for the ability to offer an end-to-end solution and our having a strong, credible play within the campus gives them an opportunity to differentiate over the incumbent," Mitchell added.
The Effortless Network programme will include increased reseller deal registration discounts, enhanced demonstration and rewards programmes, and a new a new training microsite within its Alliance Partner Network portal, as well as technical accreditations.
The first of its Partner Academies, currently scheduled for the middle of April, will cover the new programme, said Mitchell.
